This was a camping trip we hoped we'd never take—the first one without our beloved Tybee. He had a long, wonderful life and countless adventures with us, but it was still so hard to say goodbye to our little buddy. He loved being on the boat and traveling in the RV, but most of all, he loved just being with us. He leaves an emptiness in our hearts that can never be filled.
This four-night stay at Gamble Rogers was scheduled months ago, but it wasn't until the day before we were to depart that we decided to go ahead and keep our reservation. Rick and Zoe didn't run (Rick hasn't felt like running for several weeks) and Linda didn't walk the beach. We took our bikes but didn't ride them. We did take Zoe on the trail five times to get her some exercise. We saw a couple of pretty sunrises, had a good view of the Falcon Heavy rocket launch (see photos with vapor trails), and took Zoe to Snack Jacks. We tried to have a good time, but much of it was simply going through the motions. We cut our trip short and came home after three nights.
